Lesson 1- Live your dream
Everybody has dreams, but not everybody is capable of making their dreams come true. As children, we often felt immune to all those factors which prevented us from dreaming. However, as we grow up, we realize that not all dreams are meant to come true. Hal Elrod assaults this particular notion vehemently. Instead, he presents us with a dose of buoyant optimism.
The first step is a change in attitude. One has to start by believing in their potential to break away from a life of mediocrity. It requires developing self-worth and realizing one's potential. Next, related to the previous one, is not settling for anything less than the best. Mediocre thoughts breed mediocrity. When he woke up, the doctors told him that he had suffered brain damage and will suffer from physical disabilities. Despite facing such terrible news, he never lost his willpower. Instead of sulking over this, he created the life of his dreams and fulfilled his potential.
Making a turnaround enabled him to achieve a life of success. However, with the 2008 Global recession, he found himself in enormous debt. For him, the debt was worse than death. He struggled to keep his feet but eventually found a way, which was essentially linked to an excellent start to the morning.
