Lesson 1. Nutrition.
The first force among the five forces that can change our life for good is Nutrition. Nutrition simply means everything we eat, and everything a food contains. As the old proverb goes, you are what you eat, we all are made up of the food we are consuming. Everything present in our body, such as our organs, nerves, muscles, bones, blood, skin and everything else are made from what we consume. Even when a child is in the womb, he is created cell by cell, by what his mother is eating or consuming.
The first step a person needs to take to be healthy is to be careful about the food he is consuming. Ask yourself a simple question: what do you want to be made up of?
The actual question arises now, what should you eat? This is a very basic question, and every human being on the face of this planet has its answer. But we are too good at pretending that we don’t. The entire book can be distilled into a single sentence:
Consume a wide variety of whole, fresh, clean foods that should be mostly vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, grains, sprouts, beans and healthy fat. Consume it in the raw form.
There it is! It’s that simple. What you should eat can be put into two sentences. The sentence mentioned above had a very conscious omission of animal foods, meaning meat, fish, eggs and dairy products. In the book, Darin Olien has reached a conclusion, where he asserts that the less we eat the animal products, the healthier we can become. But he also mentions that some people are not able to get all the nutrients from their plant-based diet and for them the non-vegetarian diet is a necessity. The non-vegetarian diet would not be this complicated if meat, fish and the rest of the animal products were not turned into industrial products that come with unnatural baggage.
Lesson 2. Things You Should Do to Acquire Proper Nutrition.
If a person can maintain the health of their DNA through positive lifestyle choices including, food, habits, water and even their thinking pattern, then he might have a chance of a long productive and healthy life. And keep in mind, it doesn’t matter how good health runs in your family, you can still get unhealthy if you are not providing yourself with the proper raw materials as fuels to your cells for proper functioning of the cell.
