Lesson 1. Introduction.

Every effective and productive skincare starts with Understanding your skin. The skin, your body’s largest organ, endeavors to keep your body working at its best.

The main function of the skin is to act as a barrier. It provides protection from mechanical effects and weights, temperature change, micro-organisms, radiations, and chemical substances. It also provides storage for water and lipids in the skin. Furthermore, your skin forms melanin for protection against UV rays and produces Vitamin D, which is essential for keeping your bones and organs fit as a fiddle.

Since we know what the skin does, how about we consider what it actually is.

The skin is made out of two significant layers: a shallow epidermis and a more profound dermis. The epidermis comprises of a few layers. The highest layer comprises dead cells that shed intermittently and are dynamically supplanted by cells shaped from the basal layer. The dermis associates the epidermis to the hypodermis and gives quality and flexibility because of the presence of collagen and elastin strands. The hypodermis, profound to the dermis of the skin, is the connective tissue that interfaces the dermis to basic structures; it likewise harbors adipose tissue for fat accommodation and assurance.

Undoubtedly, your skin is a perplexing and persevering organ. Even more, motivation to cherish the skin you're in!

Lesson 2. The Language of Skincare.

How about we start with decoding our skin?

Let's first start with acid mantle, an extremely fine and essential film on the outside of the external layer, the epidermis of your skin. It is marginally acidic going from 4.4 - 6 pH and your body's first layer of protection against microorganisms, infections, and destructive unfamiliar bodies. Over washing or over-exfoliating can harm your acid mantle, making your skin's surface more antacid. This makes your skin very dry and dull.

Active ingredients are fundamental in making skincare products work. Overusing strong ingredients can also cause side effects on your face. It is essential to know when an over the top certain product could start to hurt your skin as opposed to supporting it.

Another term you’ll come across is parabens, they are a group of chemical preservatives and additives that are broadly utilized in cosmetic items. It prevents the development of microorganisms and molds in the products. Cosmetics containing parabens can last for quite a long time and even years.
