Lesson 1. Use the power of your subconscious to your advantage.
We remember the first time we did something new and our learning process. We focused with our entire mind and paid attention to the entire process of it. This is all executed with the help of the conscious mind. Once we start doing these things regularly, our subconscious mind takes over. These activities become natural, almost like an automatic task. For example, riding a bike. Learning how to ride a bike takes focus and patience. However, once we start doing this regularly, this becomes second nature.
Through this example, we see the extent of conscious and subconscious learning. We must learn to utilize the power of our subconscious as it is a tool that can make our lives better. We can harness the power of our subconscious mind through the repetition of positive thoughts.
The example of Enrico Caruso, the Italian opera tenor can help us understand this process better. He performed at famous opera houses in the late nineteenth century throughout Europe and the United States. However, he suffered from anxiety and stage-fright before every performance. His mind was filled with self-doubt and negative thoughts. He always thought that the crowd would laugh or jeer at him. He got over his doubts by telling his conscious mind to stop interfering with his subconscious mind. He kept repeating this positive statement almost like a meditation. Soon after, he gave his subconscious mind the power to let go of his fears. This enabled him to perform without any restrictions and with confidence.
Psychologists have conducted various experiments, where a hypnotist puts his subjects into a hypnotic state. Once he has successfully done this, he suggests to them that they are cats. His subjects then act this part out with utmost sincerity. This proves that one’s subconscious mind simply accepts whatever the conscious mind believes is true.
Lesson 2. Use positive thinking to realize your dreams.
Hypnotherapy has been a common practice in the medical field. In the eighteenth century, priests would heal patients by telling them that God would help them be well. Surprisingly, this approach to illness often worked. However, it was not the work of God. It was the work of the subconscious mind, convincing the body that there wasn’t an illness present. We can use our imagination to suggest what we want. If the positive thought process is repeated enough, your mind will manipulate your behavior towards making those thoughts a reality.
This process can be explained by the theory that positive thoughts can give
